William IV Oversized Rosewood Davenport. This is the best example of a 19th century Davenport we have seen. It is Rosewood veneered over Cuban mahogany. The perfect mix of William IV with influences from the regency period. The pair of legs are so finely carved that you can even see the hair detailing on the Lions Paws. There is a door with a fitted Interior of hand dovetailed mahogany drawers and sliders. Satinwood interior under the tilt lid. Lovely original antique that is still very functional because of its size. L 65cm, H 88cm (brass gallery), D 64cm.
